Dr. Andrea Quinn

Andrea has had a long career in psychology and management, and has special interests in trauma and personal development. She is a published author, a highly awarded lecturer in psychology, and previously a regular guest on ABC radio. Andrea provides counselling for a range of concerns, including, anxiety and mood problems, stress and trauma, adjustment to chronic and life-altering health problems, bereavement and grief, relationships and partnering, workplace issues and career directions, and alcohol, drugs, and other addictive behaviours. Many people find themselves challenged on the same frontiers as have always existed: life, love, happiness, health, purpose, meaning, faith – all the stuff of human experience. Some people notice patterns repeating. Some become determined ‘seekers’, looking for answers in books, new spiritual paths, or from charismatic modern gurus. Others pursue oblivion, anyhow, anywhere, anytime. We “may not control all the events that happen to us, but we can decide not to be reduced by them” (Maya Angelou, 1928-2014). Andrea draws on a number of therapeutic modalities to help guide you towards solutions that work for you, including Schema-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
