Why should organisations and individuals improve their emotional intelligence?

In a fast changing local and global environment, companies now more than ever depend largely on human capital for a competitive edge.

Emotional competencies have become an indispensable part of new generation leaders competence repertoire. It necessitates the optimisation of the innovative and creative abilities of people. Managers, who have high levels of self-awareness and know how to work effectively with others, are the ones who will position their organisations successfully in this fast changing business environment of the future.

New trainees and graduates often lack the people skills required for organisational effectiveness, have limited understanding of themselves and how they relate to others, and don’t know how to integrate into the business environment. They lack the foundation skills necessary for career success and for contributing to the business.

At junior levels of management, people are often hesitant to take initiative and responsibility, and tend to wait for instructions from senior employees. There is often a lack of understanding of customer needs, as well as the do’s and don’ts of the workplace. As a result stress levels increase, self-esteem deteriorates, and people become disillusioned, passive and unmotivated.

Organisations are continuously looking for goal-orientated, proactive employees who are at ease with themselves and others, and who know how to access and optimise people’s potential.

The cost of emotional incompetence for individuals, supervisors, managers, leaders, teams and organisations is vast. There is evidence and research that indicates that emotional competencies count more than IQ. In our opinion: IQ + EQ = brilliance.

It is generally accepted that lost opportunities, low productivity, staff turnover, low morale, lack of trust, derailed relationships, inhibited creativity, negative stress and lack of teamwork impact negatively on organisations’ bottom line results.

Course format

The modular programmes can be customised and presented in bigger or smaller portions depending on the operational needs of the target group and the organisation.  We can provide training on site, at or at our facilities or at an independent venue.  Transferring skills to our customers is our ultimate goal.
